Application for a minor programme

1. Fulfilling the Minor Programme Requirements

1.1 You must fulfil the minor programme requirements by making use of the units for complementary studies/free electives which means if you choose a course to fulfill the minor programme requirement, its course group must be under complementary studies/free electives.

1.2 Whether you have a minor programme or not, it is compulsory of you to meet the complementary studies/free electives requirements in order to graduate.

1.3 A course cannot be double-counted as a major and minor course at the same time:

There are four scenarios:

  1. If a major required course is also listed under your minor required courses, it may not be double counted. The units you gained on this course will serve to satisfy your major unit requirement only. It will not be counted towards the minor programme, and you have to choose another course under the list of minor elective courses to fulfill the minor unit requirement.
  2. If a major required course is also listed under your minor elective courses, it may not be double counted. The units you gained on this course will serve to satisfy your major unit requirement only. It will not be counted towards the minor programme, and you have to choose another course under the list of minor elective courses to fulfill the minor unit requirement.
  3. If a minor required course is also listed under your major elective courses, it may not be double counted. The units you gained from this course will serve to satisfy your minor unit requirement only. It will not be counted towards the major programme, and you have to choose another course under the list of major elective courses to fulfill the major unit requirement.
  4. If a minor elective course is also listed under your major elective courses, it may not be double counted. You may use it to fulfill either your minor or your major unit requirement.
